Dr Ken Maguire
Dr Ken Maguire is a Consultant Physician in Rheumatic Diseases and Sports Medicine.
Dr Maguire was the inaugural Medical Co-ordinator of the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra in 1982, and the first Censor-in-Chief of the Australian College of Sports Physicians. He is now actively involved with NH&MRC work at The University of Western Australia and teaching at Curtin University.
His leadership in the field of Sports Medicine is today reflected in various appointments which include Medical Co-ordinator for the Perth Glory soccer team, Medical Advisor for the Fitness Institute of Western Australia and a position on the Medical Advisory Panel for the West Australian Institute of Sport. He is also the benefactor for the John Sutton Award, Ken Maguire Award and the Wendy Ey Award for the Annual Scientific Conferences of Sports Medicine Australia.
