Dr Mervyn Cross

Dr Mervyn Cross OAM specialises in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee. He has particular interests in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and total knee replacement.

Dr Cross completed his Orthopaedic training in 1972, and then undertook Fellowships in Sports Medicine and Knee Surgery in the United States. He commenced practice in 1974.

Dr Cross has built up an unequalled reputation for excellence in knee surgery, particularly in knee reconstruction and knee replacement with numerous clinical publications to his credit and has been a leader in the development of fellowship programs and orthopaedic training.

In February 1991, Dr Cross received a Doctor of Medicine from the University of New South Wales, and in 1995 was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for service to Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.

In 2007 Dr Cross was inducted into the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Hall of Fame.

Dr Cross founded and consults at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre in Crows Nest, and at The Stadium Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre in Moore Park.
